Collectors come for one print and stay because the next piece still looks like 1958 — starbursts, boomerangs, kidney tables, and that dry Palm Springs sun.

I had the Eames-ish sofa and the teak sideboard. The wall was still dead. These cats look like they wandered out of a 1959 catalog — black silhouettes, starbursts, that burnt-orange ground. Guests ask about them before they sit down.

I wanted that desert-modern feeling — pool, palms, pink stucco light — not a tourist print. The colors are dry and graphic. Hung over the credenza it reads collected, not themed.
The floor lamp is the quiet hero of the whole room.
Scale was the worry. It sits beside the sofa like a genuine mid-century piece — thin arm, warm pool of light, no visual noise. We stopped using the overheads at night.

Starbursts, atomic motifs, a little humor. I mixed three prints over the slat bench and it suddenly looks like a room someone actually lived in in 1961. Framing advice in the journal helped with scale.
